The BIGSEA project is funded by the European Research Council from 2016-2021.
The available positions have been filled for 2016. However, additional PhD fellowships and postdoctoral fellowships will open in 2017 for highly motivated candidates with excellent track records and strong numerical skills.
Suitable backgrounds include economics, complexity theory, theoretical ecology, oceanography, physics, mathematics or related fields. Requirements for the positions are: handiness with mathematical equations and code, innate curiosity, enthusiasm for reading scientific literature, ability to synthesize complex information, willingness to spend long hours in front of a computer, aptitude for teamwork.
PhD fellowships will require a masters’ degree. Postdoctoral fellowships will be initially for 1-year, renewable. Salaries will be internationally-competitive, commensurate with experience.
In addition, enquiries from candidates interested in pursuing independent funding in order to join the BIGSEA team are always welcome. Send any questions to Eric Galbraith (email@example.com).
